Dear Delegates,

On behalf of the organizing committee of the Eighth Meeting of the International Committee on GNSS (ICG-8), we would like to welcome you to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates this coming November. ICG-8 will be held in the spectacular hotel “The Address Dubai Mall” between the 10th and the 14th of November 2013.

The International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems   is based on a voluntary system as an informal body to promote cooperation, on matters of mutual interest related to civilian satellite-based positioning, navigation, timing and value-added services, also the compatibility and interoperability of global navigation satellite systems and increasing their use to support sustainable development, particularly in developing countries. Participants are system providers, international governmental organizations and international non-governmental organizations.

This year’s meeting will be hosted by the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST); an organization established by the Dubai Government in 2006 as a part of a strategic initiative to inspire scientific innovation, technological advancement and to advance sustainable development. ICG-8 will be held in the 2nd largest Emirate of the UAE, in one excitement into a vibrant cosmopolitan city.
